I am a PhD student in the Biomedical AI lab at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer supervised by Ava Khamseh. I study single cell morphological profiling and use this along with machine learning to try and use cellular morphology to predict oncogenic mutations and time from onset of the cancer.
August 2025 - February 2026, Edinburgh
I am currently working as a research assistant in the Beentjes lab in the Maths Department of the University of Edinburgh. I am working in conjunction with NICE to create software to evaluate studies undertaken using TMLE.
April 2022 - March 2023, Edinburgh
Ed-DaSH is an organisation run in collaboration with The Carpentries that teaches data science skills to researchers in the health and biosciences fields.
September 2021 - August 2025, Edinburgh
I studied for my PhD in the Khamseh Lab at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer, part of the University of Edinburgh. My research focused mainly on applying morphological profiling to digital pathology images. I created novel software in Python to morphologically profile and spatially analyse whole slide images at single cell resolution. I applied this software to WSI’s of liver cancer with known oncogenic mutations and trained machine learning algorithms to identify mutations from morphological differences. I have handed in my thesis, but I am still waiting to complete my viva.
